Questions, answered

Everything you need to know about your color season, your photo, your results and payments.

The basics
What is a color season?
Color season analysis groups people by how their natural coloring (skin undertone, depth, contrast and intensity) works together. Your season points to the colors, and the lipstick shades, that harmonize with you instead of fighting your coloring.
How does it work?
You upload a clear, well-lit selfie. We detect your face, then measure the actual pixel colors of your skin, iris, eye whites and eyebrows and compare them against 16 color seasons. Your season is then used to rank lipstick shades by how closely they fit your undertone, depth and chroma.
Which lipstick brands do you match?
MAC, Revlon, L'Oréal Paris and Maybelline. Each shade card links to the brand's own official website. We are not affiliated with these brands.
What is "My Shade / Not My Shade"?
A quick check for a single color, such as a lipstick, blush or outfit. You upload the color profile image from your Season Analysis plus a photo of the item, and we tell you whether it suits you and suggest up to three similar shades from our catalog.
Your photo
What kind of photo works best?
A sharp selfie in soft natural daylight, facing the camera, with your hair off your face and your eyes visible. Avoid filters, heavy makeup, tinted glasses, contact lenses and strong colored light on your face. Poor lighting is the most common reason a reading fails.
Is my photo saved?
No. Your photo is used only to produce your result and is not kept by us. See our Privacy Policy for exactly what is processed and by whom.
Do you use face recognition?
No. We detect where your skin, eyes and eyebrows are only so we can sample their colors. We don't identify you, and we don't keep a face template.
Why did my scan fail?
Usually because the photo is too dark, too bright, blurry, or no face could be found. Try again facing a window in soft daylight. We check your photo before you pay, so a failed scan never costs you anything. After three failed tries in a row we'll suggest trying a different camera or device.
Results and shades
How accurate is it?
We measure real colors from your photo, which is more reliable than guessing from a quiz. Accuracy still depends on the light and camera in your photo, so a good photo matters. Treat the results as an informed guide, not a guarantee.
Will the shade look exactly like this on my lips?
Shade colors on a screen are close but never exact, and lipstick looks different depending on your natural lip color, finish and lighting. Check swatches or testers when you can.
My results feel wrong. What can I do?
Try a new photo in better light first. You can also send us your feedback with the star rating after your results, or email us and we'll take a look.
Payments
What does it cost?
Each reading is a one-time payment through PayPal, with the price shown before you pay. We never see or store your card details.
What if I have a problem with my payment?
We check your photo's lighting and that your face is clear before you pay, so you are only charged when your photo is right. If you have any problem, email findmybestshades@gmail.com and we will help. See our Refund Policy for details.
I paid on another device. How do I get my checks back?
On the payment screen, choose "Already bought checks? Restore them by email" and enter the email you paid with.
Do you earn money when I click a shop link?
Not at the moment. The links go straight to each brand's official site. If that ever changes, we'll label affiliate links clearly. See our Shop Links Disclosure.
